I am so proud of you son. I am sorry that I didn't appear to have so much confidence in you. I just know what a strong person Katniss is, how strong she has had to be. I know that you may think you love Katniss but you can't. It won't be good for you or her. You need to be strong son. In the hunger games it is good to strategies but I am not sure that the careers is such a good idea. You know they will turn on you soon enough. Be strong and stay focused.
I do care, a lot, that you are still alive but don't forget at the end of the games there will be only one winner.

Dad, I believe that you have confidence in me, but I'm not as sure about mom. I can't help but think that she only roots for me now because I stand half a shot because I'm with the careers.

Son, You know your mom means well. She loves you as do I. Both of us are extremely worried about you being allied with the "careers." We are also concerned about your increasing infactuation with Katniss. You know that eventually it will be you or her. There cannot be both of you. I understand how you feel about her, really I do. Stay focused and try to wean yourself away from the careers and stay away from Katniss. Her first instict will be survival.
